The first transcription player contained a GE, single stylus variable reluctance cartridge. Cartridge models used were RPX 040, 041, 061, and 063. Below are PDF files of the cartridges and styli.
THE VR Series
Through to the end of the TR series transcription players, several different model GE cartridges were used, with VR as a prefix. These cartridges cotained two styli; one for lp and the other for 78. With a red knob on top, the push/turn arrangement allowed the user to change stylus type.
