This is possibly the second Russco turntable. Preceeding this model, was a three speed version. In 1959, 78 PRM records were discontinued as the standard, being replaced with RCA's large hole 45 RPM. The model shown here is a two speed, dropping the 78 RPM selection, placing the turntable, circa 1960. This is a combination belt and idler drive device. Each selected speed has its own idler wheel, which is driven from the two speed belt driven capstan. The motor, Model HS-100, although appearing to be a Bodine, has the Russco label. This motor is much larger than the usual black Bodine and is gray. This model turntable doesn't seem to appear on any web site. Is it that rare?
This TT has been restored to like new condition. New platter felt, speed indicator and power lights, power switch and tone arm plate.
