Every Newcomb record player has three cone shaped rubber shock mounts. These mounts serve two purposes. First, they isolate motor vibration from the deck, eventually transfering noise to the tone arm, causing rumble. Second, they make up the correct height for the idler wheel alignment on the motor capstan. Over time and heat, these mounts degrade and colapse. New mounts are easy to find and easy to install. Note: The cone faces up. This is the same mount used in many jukeboxes. Click on an image to take you to a qualified seller.
